“Sadly, this trip fell far short. Guide’s commentary was not particularly informative during the hour plus drive to get there. The guide offered a folding plastic step stool to enter van that was cracked and broken to the point of being a safety concern. The van’s tire pressure alarm went off while driving and she just waved it off. Once there, the ice museum was closed due to a temperature variance, so that was a total bust (and the refund received for this was laughable). At that point, we were simply released to go find lunch (one available restaurant), visit hot springs or otherwise entertain ourselves til 5pm when she…”

“Rachel picked us up right on time, the drive was scenic and she was very informative telling about life in Alaska. She stayed in the information center incase we had we questions. On our way home she saw a moose on the side of the road, stopped and we watched a mother moose and her two babies cross right in front of us. She offered to take pics for those in the back. We had just past two cyclist on the road and she stayed to make sure they got safely past to the moose and her babies. “Chena is touristy, but worth going to see. The drive from Fairbanks was long and the driver spoke over a mic in Chinese only. It should be disclosed the tour would be in Chinese. The second van in our tour had a driver that spoke English and was able to communicate where and when to meet up for the drive back to Fairbanks. Fortunately we read other reviews and knew to book the ice museum in advance, booked early in the morning the day of our trip. It was sold out upon arrival. “Great experience. Adam was our tour guide. I enjoyed the information he shared about Alaska. Chena Springs was incredible. Adam had told us to bring towel, slides, bag for wet clothes. The lockers take 2 quarters only. There are showers, blow dryers and changing areas. The water feels wonderful. Don't forget the ice museum, it was also incredible. Get the apple martini and dont forget to smash your ice glass after you make a wish. We did not use any of the other pools. Once you get in the hot springs you dont want to get out. Highly recommend this tour.”
